Why should I have my own Agent as a Buyer?
Typically the Seller will (as a part of their contract) pay the Agents involved in the sale irregardless of who they represent.
If you use the Agent representing the Seller, then they cannot give you any information/advice that hurts the Seller (lower price, etc.).
If you get your own Agent (a Buyer's Agent) that is not also the Listing Agent on a property you put an offer on, they must give you any information/advice that helps you!
They are still paid by the Seller, but literally represent you. Note that there are some legal requirements that affect certain information that any Agent must or can't share
with certain people, but in general all of the above is true.
